Habitats:

  • Paper nests at least three feet off the ground
  • As large as 14 inches wide and 24 inches long

Threat:

  • Sting repeatedly with venom, causing pain, itchiness, and swelling for about 24 hours
  • Stings can cause allergic reactions

Preventing an Infestation:

  • Do not attempt to remove a bald-faced hornet nest
  • The wasps are aggressive, and likely to sting
